We have a OkiData dot matrix printer that seems to be acting up. I didn't include the model because as you will see it doesn't matter.
It seems that when the paper is changed, (it is using continuous feed, tractor pull) it will print out the first page with no problems. When it moves to the second page it feeds about 10 lines past the set starting point and uses that as the starting point for the rest of the print jobs until it is set back. From that point on it works great with no problems. The only difference between the paper is one has letter head and the other doesn't. Other than that its standard 8.5 x 11 continous feed paper. We have found that if you turn the power off, change the paper, turn the power on, and manually set the starting point with the knob on the side it works fine. If you use that same process but use line feed to set the starting point instead of using the knob on the side it will proceed with the problem mentioned above....
We have tried several printers,(which is why I say the model doesn't matter considering we have used several) but all have the same problem. It is hooked up to a HP JetDirect print server, which we have replaced as well, and is printed to through a Novell Netware 5 and Unix network. Both sides of the network have the same problem....
Any ideas would be appreciated....
