Dot Matrix Printing

I've been told that it's possible (not necessarily easy but possible) to use a "Windows" dot matrix printer (i.e., a non-Apple unit) on a Macintosh. Since I have 2 or 3 of them lying around and since I have a need to print some pin-feed labels, I was wondering if anyone has any ideas/suggestions (other than getting a Macintosh/Apple unit, of course - defeats the purpose )

If you're using OSX, try gimp print. There's a pretty decent chance you'll get one going.

Thanks. I'm using OS 9.x on a PowerPC (at least for now). Also have a Linux box and have one of the dot matrix units working just fine there - am just trying to consolidate 'stuff' for my home business on the Mac.
