I am working on an AIX 5.3 server. I have a dos file named dosfile.txt on this server.

I have used dos2unix and unix2dos to convert dos files to unix and vice versa on this server.

Can I use dosread / doswrite or aix2dos / dos2aix to do the same ? I havent used these. Hence the question.

Thanks
philipose

I don't think these serve the same purpose, just being used to enable AIX to read and write to DOS filesystems like floppy disks. I stand to be corrected, however!

I want to be good, is that not enough?

Thanks Ken,
I was trying to put a request to install dos2unix/unix2dos on the AIX 5.3 server. I could not find a website offering the dos2unix / unix2dos for AIX in gnu.org or fsf.org. Maybe I did not look enough.

I found an equivalent utility tofrodos here.

Do you have any thoughts on where I can download the dos2unix / unix2dos installation packages or the above website for tofromdos is a reliable website ?

Regards
Philipose

Sorry, Philipose, I don't have unix2dos etc on my AIX servers either. However, the tofrodos seems a possible suitable alternative.
