User is getting a dos window with an error message stating, "The ID file being used is: C:\Lotus\Notes\Data\Username.ID Enter password <press the Esc key to abort>". On the Title bar of the dos window is "NCDAEMON". I did a search on the intenet for "NCDAEMON.exe" and it seems to be associated with Mcafee antivirus which is what we use.

Thanks for your help.

Jerry

This is caused by McAfee. We had the same problem here on machines where McAfee was installed AFTER Notes was installed. We prevent this problem by installing McAfee FIRST, then Notes.

Here's how you cna fix the problem. Make sure Notes is closed and not running, then just edit the notes.ini file:

Remove these lines..

AddinMenus=NCMenu
EXTMGR_ADDINS=NCExtMgr
