I have a problem with a file that is sitting on my desktop in Windows 2000 Pro. While trying to isolate a virus I renamed an exe on the desktop and now Windows will not restart!

I have a boot disk and want to go in and rename the file back to what it was before.

The problem is I cannot locate the path to the desktop in DOS!! Can anyone tell me where the Desktop is hiding in DOS - what the full path is.

Many thanks,
Artifice

Either \Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop or
\Documents and Settings\yourusername\Desktop

Items in both locations will appear on your desktop.

That's brilliant - many thanks.
