DOS Error 71

I run Approach on a peer-to-peer network with both XP and Win ME stations, with all Approach files resisind on an XP machine. I have been getting a DOS Error 71 message sometimes when I try to open different Approach .apr files, usually on the XP machine hosting the files, but sometimes on the other machines.

I think it has something to do with a limit on the files handles or some such nonsense, but I am clueless as to what to change.

Any suggestions?

DOS Error 71 indicates "Network request not accepted", I've never seen it myself with Approach on a network. How many people are using the apr concurrently? There's a limit of 16 per copy of the apr, although if a seventeenth person attempts to open it they should get the message, "Internal error couldn't load string 0."
