Please, help me telling how can I execute a DOS command from asp (with syntax).

My purpose is to compress a big size file using PKZip or any compression utility and make it available for download.

You don't need to start a dos session to zip a file. You can download an asp component that will zip your file from within an asp. Go here to see example.

I have down loaded a component that allows you to run .exe's from within an asp but i would recommend that you always look for a component first.
