How can I connect a DOS computer in a novell network withou the login prcedure with password. The DOS computer only uses the TCP/IP protocol.

You can't! You MUST logon to a Novell NetWare Server in order to access any of its resources.

Good Luck!

What exactly are you trying to achieve? -----------------------------------------------------

HI
Create a netware user with no password..
In your batch file which runs your VLM's etc add the line
to the end-
LOGIN yoursusername
We used to use this for enquiry screens years ago where they were constantly rebooted. ie POS and Lookup's etc
when you have the batch file working OK, then you may want to put a logout at the end - adds to security as it will log them out if they come back to dos.
WARNING: creating users without password is not recommended by NOVELL.

As mentioned above "No Password" for a user is a BIG security hole, if you just want to do this from one workstation, it can be made more secure by making this user only access the network from one workstation address.

Would this work in a Netware-5 IP-only environment?

I would love to see an ip-only stack that will authenticate and map from a dos client to NW5 servers...

Anyone got one they'd like to share?

Follow this thread over on:

thread75-122110 a good head of steam (or stream of bits?) building up there on IP-only clients in NW5.x and later environments.
