Hi there,
I have some self-written dos-programs and want them to
run under windows9x. So far, so good, I use the dos-box.
My Programs are using a special file-system - not self-written; I
bought it! - (e.g. for adress-datas )
with semaphore-files, that means: the
data base, using index-files opens a
'semaphore-data'.This data is necessary for multi-user-index-access.
It is created from the first progam, that opens the
database and is closed from the last program,
that closes the database. There are are
informations handled in the semaphore-file
to prevent a collision from several programs when using the
index-file.

Now, back to the dos-boxes. In the first one,
everything is ok.Running the program twice on the neighbour-PC,
both systems hang completely, even a crtl-alt-del does not work.
With good old
DOS 6.22 I have no problems with my multi-user
file system at all.

Any idea? May be there a registry-key to handle the
semaphore-access not so rigourous?
For suggestions I would
