Installed a door phone it is working as programmed however when the door phone button is pushed there are two issues of concern.

1) The door phone only makes the Ding Dong sound once on all phones. Is is there any reason why it does not continue to ring like a normal incomming call? The staff sometimes does not hear it one th first try. Could another type of feature like a auto dial hotline allow all the sets to continue to ring until answered?

2) If someone presses the door phone button and no ones answers the door phone does not time out it just keep flashing the intercom buttons on all the sets. Is there a time out I can program for the door phone so lets say after 1 min. it hangs up?

The timeout timer for the door phone is adjustable. It is controlled by one of the "pots" on the door phone's circuit board. If you go to Avaya's website, you can download or print out the instruction/installation sheet.

As far as I know, the ports that are set up as door phone extensions will chime only 1 time.

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

1. Nature of the beast for an analog door phone. To get multiple rings you need a "Door Phone Controller" which uses a line port. You can even set it up to answer to voice mail if unanswered.

2. Ther should be jumpers inside the door phone to change the disconnect time.

You can remove all lines from the doorphone, and make it a hotline extension, but not to a calling group, only to one other extension. That extension could be a spare port, looped to a spare CO port, programmed as an Incoming Only line with a unique line ringing.
