How do you wire a door phone and contact closure?

Can you program the system so that it only notifies a certain extension when you want it to? For example always notify ext 10, but only notify 11 after 3pm..

Thanks for any help you have.

Ok, to answer the first half of your question....the doorphone is just pins 4 and 5 on a RJ45, wired to a doorphone. When the station port is assigned as a door phone #604, and goes offhook, it will alert the door phone alert extensions #606.

As far as a contact closure, you need to purchase the contact closure adjunct, then you could wire in either a normally open or normally closed contact closure, and you need to assign the stations to the contact closure group for each contact closure for them to be able to activate it. #612 I think is for contact closer group assign.

Ok, Part two of your question:
The answer is no, they press the button and it rings the phones assigned in the group, no time control on the partner, not even a delayed ring....but....if you were to purchase a door phone that works on a loop start port, you could plug it into a line port, assign lines to the stations, and have some set for delayed ring, some set for immidate ring....vikingelectronics.com would be a good start for this. Hope this helps.

The doorphone stuff is covered in the Partner documentation along with alot of good stuff that can be downloaded from Avaya for free. See their website: support.avaya.com for all the free manuals you could want!
