Upgraded customer from Merlin Legend to IP500 5.0.8
Customer has door phone with door control system from a 3rd party vendor(working on getting the make and model). with the legend the door phone was connected to a CO line and rang the line apperance button. This would not work witht he ip office so i gave it a seperate analouge line set it for inbound only and changed the group id's. i then put line apperance buttons on the reception phones set to immediate ring and it still does not ring the phones. I then moved it to an analog extension port and set up the ?D short code with the hunt group in the telephone number field. it still will not ring the phones.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Everything is in cards in the IP500. no expansion modules.

The ?D code needs to be "Dial extn" not just "Dial" :) Does the you see it go off hook in SSA?

Why not set up and ICR for the line Grp ID of the Analogue trunk and point this to a group or extension?

With the ?D short code, don't forget to use the DialExtn feature...

Don't ask me, I didn't design it.

Does the you" should be Do you ....lol :-0

I will go and try both options heade there now. Thanks for the quick responses. I did set it to dial not dial extn, that is probably why it won't work.

Thanks!

You need to be sure that door interface port acts as a phone (i.e. for connection to an extension) or as a CO (for connection to a trunk port) You can't plug a CO into an extension port and expect it to work.

Have you tried plugging an analogue phone into the door port and listening - especially when the door call button is pressed. You may have issues with the ring voltage not being high enough for the IPO to recognise. Using this arrangement can you "hear" loop current / dial tone?

Take Care

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

Thanks for the replys! I plugged in into the trunk port like it was before, reboot no luck. Lowered the ring persistency and rebooted and it started working. Thanks for the info.
