I have a site that wants a call from door phone to stop ringing after 3 rings. unfortunately in past I have sent it to vmbox and a disconnect with vmpro. but this site has embedded. is there a short code I could forward it to that will drop/disco the call?

How about sending the call to an auto-attendant with a maximum inactivity of 2 seconds and no options allowed. It will then disconnect after the 2 seconds if no fallback option is programmed.

good idea, I will try that tonight. I rarely work with embedded. I was hoping to send it to a mailbox that is answer only, till I found out it dosnt do that like vmpro.

I assume that you still want the door phone to ring at some extensions? That is not going to work if you send the call to the AA. How is the person on the door gonna press 1 to be connected to the operator?

yes I do want them to ring, but the end user is lazy and dosnt want to answer it. they just want to press the door open button when the hear the door ringing. so I am trying to get it to ring a group for a few seconds then overflow to another group or station that will disco the call make the ringing stop. the site is not close or I would just go there and change the door phone timer itself.

Then they don't need a doorphone, they need a doorbell..... and tell them to stop being a bell(end) and answer the phone

I went with telecomboy's idea, it was set it up to ring the door HG -- with the 3 people who answer the door in it. I just added a overflow group like I was creating a delayed AA to pickup. The AA had no greeting and max inactive of 2 sec's with no options.

I pointed a DID to a test group, to see how this would react. made a call and it looks like it rang the phones, then overflowed to the AA and dropped....
