Hi.
I installed an Sbs2003 server and setup the exchange service. The instalation was activated via internet.Have created pop and smpt connectors, the pop connector read mail from my ISP and the smpt connector writes to. The mail received from pop server works fine. I notice all emails sent by users are waiting to delivery. At the left side of "queue" icon in the exchange console I see there is a blue arrow pointing to down, in the first days an item in the right side of this pannel shown the amount of total mails in queue. Today the number I see is "0" but the arrow still there. I try to send to hotmail but never arrive. All steps to setup the smtp and services are accomplished (smtp server name, user and password given by my ISP). Where could be the problem?
Thanks to all replys.

Have you run the internet and email setup wizard in the small business server admin panel?

Sending email to Hotmail, AOL, Yahoo and many others will be problematic if you do not have an RDNS entry.

Using a SmartHost as specified above with your current setup will eliminate this problem.

Running the CEICW is also good advice.

But why is it all necessary? Do you have a static IP? If so then why not move your mail to be delivered directly to your server and eliminate all the POP connections entirely?

I hope you find this post helpful.

Regards,

Mark

Hello again.
I setup the smarthost in SBS 2003, but still not delivering emails.
When trying to setup Internet Mail in Exchange 2003 (click on my exchange site under advance manage, then selected "wizard for internet email") I receive the following error for sending mail "to send Internet email, the selected server cannot be a bridgehead server." The error is c103b530, the wizard can not continue. I looked this error and found "Go into System Manager, find your server and right click and go to Properties. Uncheck the box that says "this is a Front End Server", but I cant find an option which says this. My SBS2003 is in spanish language I dont find an appropiate translation related to "..front end server" in all pages. Where can i find this? Could this be the solution?
Thanks to forum.
