I keep getting this Error Message
Windows FE OE
0028:FFFFFFFF
and at other times
FE OE
0028:FFFFFFC0

These happen whenever I am in the
middle of an application no matter
which application I am using.

I recently upgraded my system from
133MHZ 65 Meg Ram
to a new motherboard, and Cpu with
new sound, video, etc.
1200 Mhz and 352 Meg Ram

maybe a Reinstall of Win98 2nd
edition would help, but don't
want to lose my files.

If I only knew what these error
messages refer to maybe I can
correct the problems.

Thanks for any help

Tom

remove the new memory and run only the old memory (that's if the 2 kinds are compatible). If so, do you still get the error message? We are always looking for new members at our computer forums: Please come join our community too.

Check your CPU fan to see if its working properly. Make sure your jumper/bios settings are correct so you are not overclockings. Also, check to see if any areas of the computer are getting very hot. This sounds like it may be heat related.

It works better if you plug it in.

I am going to try removing the 128 meg Ram
and run it with the new 256 meg Ram and
see what happens.

When I first upgraded my system the memory
was replaced with 128 meg Ram which came
with the upgrade. I got the error message
mention but didn't pay much attention to
it as it didn't freeze my system and I had
an occasional reboot problem.

The problem got worse when I added more
memory 256 meg Ram I am begining to
belive that may be the problem.

The Cpu and power supply Fans are working
properely I had them checked and double
checked as I thought that might have been
the problem.

Some how I think the rebooting and the
error messages are related. Whenever I
tried to install an application or
run an application for more than an
hour like a Diagnostic it will run
for a time and the system auto reboots
then I get the mentioned error messages.

I am going to check the jumper/bios
setting too.
