thanks to others just looking

How are they connected? If you're not using a hub or switch, you have to use a crossover cable.

What protocol(s) are you using?
Make sure that file and printer sharing is enabled.
Make sure primary logon is microsoft windows network and that the workgroup names are the same on both machines.

Good Luck!

I can't tell you how, but I can tell you that I've heard nothing but horror stories on XP. The home edition networking is less operational than windows 95. You're best bet from what I've been told is trying using it as a dial-up. This is only what I've been told. Sorry to say, I wouldn't touch xp or me. The only two OS for me are w2k and w98 se. These are the best microsoft has come up with. Good luck. Glen A. Johnson
