I don't know what I would call this or if it is even possible. I have a fax server in several one of my regional offices. We would like to assign a local fax DID to each person in ever office but the main Fax server will be in another region. Example: I have 50 user in Boca Raton Fl, & 50in NYC that have 561-39# & 646-21# DID numbers but I want those DID's to terminate in Upstate NY. Possible?

Thanks
T.

Very possible with addition of $. The value of $ depends on what other resources you may have to work with. Private TDM/tie line network between sites? Private VoIP network that supports Fax over IP between sites? PBXs that can redirect calls?

Unless your clientele is local to each office, I'd just assign everyone a DID from location that has server - by far the easiest method.

I think you can use the vonage business service and get the numbers imported from remote sites.

the suggestion of using a private tie line network also makes sense.

this is one of the few times that I would suggest a VOIP network to move the calls around

probably the least expensive and easiest to admin would be using remote call forwarding to have the phone company forward the calls to the actual fax machine you need the call to go to. since the cost of long distance calls has dropped so much this might be feasable, at least worth looking at.
