I was given a laptop with xp pro on it but I wasn't given the CD, I recently started writing the html code for my website but I have no way to host it, I very new to the website building. Is there anyway top install the iis without the cd?

You need the i386 directory for your OS. Unfortuantily it is on the OS CD...
When you get your hands on a CD, Copy the i386 to your hard drive. When you need to add/remove system components you can point to the directory, CD no longer required.

Note: Always read the instruction when installing components, sometimes it asks for the i386 from a service pack installation. Those files are usually installed on C:\windows\ServicePackFiles\i386
