In our Domino/Notes 5 environment, clients in remote locations work with a local replica of their mail files. Although quota are set up on the server mailboxes, the remote users are not affected and their server replicas grow and grow ...

The only result of the quota is that their sent items are not replicated back from the client to the server, but of course this does not affect these users in any way.

Some hints I got from other Domino admins:
[ul]
[li]Create a "nagging agent" in their mail template >> we cannot change the templates because of company policies[/li]
[li]Upgrade to Domino 6 >> does anyone know whether this will solve the problem?[/li]
[/ul]

Any idea?

We had Domino 6.x on the server and Notes 5 clients at one point and still had the quota issue you describe. When the clients went to 6.x also, the quotas were enforced correctly. Actually it was only when we replaced the mailbox design with iNotes6 template and had the 6.x client.

Then Notes 6 it will be. Thanks for sharing your experience.
