Domino Makes Me Mad

When something like this happens I usually assume I've done something stupid, but I can't quite figure this out yet.

I have installed Domino Enterprise Server, standard install. I go through the process of creating an Administrator account during the install process. I finish the install, reboot (can't help it I have used Microsoft products for too long), start up the Notes server, start up Notes server administrator. Here is the problem.

The only ID files on my server are the cert.id and server.id. The administrator won't let me login to the Notes server because the ID is in use. So I have a server, but no way to administer it.

Yes, this happened to me as well. I reinstalled the darn thing before I found out what happened. The ID is actually attached in the Administrator's person document. What you need to do is launch the notes client on the server, switch to the server id (or any other Notes ID; doesn't matter as long as you're accessing the names.nsf directly on the server) and open the Public NAB. Look for the Administrator's person doc and detach the ID. Make sure you delete it from the person document (after backing it up somewhere) before allowing users in.

Need not do the same. When you launch Administrator the First Time and you need to setup your Lotus Notes Client to do that when the system asks you for your ID file specify your Administrators Name and the ID shall be detached and put in C:\Lotus\Notes\Data as USER.ID. It works all the time else do the suggestion given above. Also check that Notes.ini should only have first 4 lines before you start your Notes Administration Client....

how do i populate a field dynamically based on the value selected in another field in lotus notes?
