Hello,

Are there any issues/conflicts with running Domino Server and IIS on the same machine?

I want to run a small ASP application on the same machine as Notes and Domino applications, but I don't think there's a real need to actually integrate the two services. So I just wondered if running both simultaneously would cause any problems.

Thanks

Hello,

I have never heard of anyone needing that, but I would just make sure you disable HTTP in Domino if iNotes is not needed. Or you can change IIS to use a unique port. I would also try this in a test lab. Good luck.

Rgds,

John

The only thing I can think of is, depending on the load on the server (ie number of concurrent users), you may encounter a performance problem. IIS is very good at serialising requests and coping with large amounts of traffic, however, Domino may be your bottleneck if all requests are destined for it through IIS.

Are you using both as separate web-servers? Different HTTP ports? Or do you have an ISAPI filter set up on the IIS front-end to redirect requests to the Domino server?

I run a number of web servers on my Development laptop: IIS, Domino and WebSphere. But very rarely both Domino and WebSphere at the same time. ;-)

Could you explain in a bit more detail what you are doing?

Pete.
