Hi,

I'm about to install Domino 5.0.10 on a Linux server that I don't physically have access to. I'm going to install it through ssh across the internet. Can I use Domino Adminstrator to connect to the server across the internet? Will this be too slow to manage? I'm on a cable modem and the server is on an equivalent of a T3. I've never connected to a Domino server that wasn't on my LAN.

Thanks,

Also, is this a security risk?

Thanks

...and does anybody know what ports to open to allow Domino Administrator through? If someone resolves an issue for you, or was helpful, please click the link on the bottom left hand corner of their post to give them a "star" letting them know they helped you.

shouldn't be a problem, I've been administrating domino servers across the web for a couple of years now.

you might want to set your box and your client to encrypt tcpip network traffic (file-tools-userpreferences-ports in the client, for the linux server you need to look up the notes.ini setting for that because I don't remember exactly what it was).

notes uses 1352/tcp for it's native communications, so make sure you allow that on your firewall
