Domino 5.0.13a SMTP not sending

Hi there,

I'm having a problem that no one seems to have solved on the lotus notes form , so I am now trying here.

On our SMTP server outgoing mail is getting stuck in mail.box. The stuck mail status is undead. I have to constantly stop and start the router service to deliver the outgoing mail. I have turned on verbose logging and get the following error

02/03/2006 03:40:39 PM Router: No messages transferred to 195.245.230.131 (host 195.245.230.131) via SMTP

195.245.230.131 is messagelabs (they wash all our mail).

I have already updated from 5.0.8 but the problem persists. I then though it was the firewall . I can see the following error in the firewall.

Error: Connection was reset by server

Messagelabs say that its not their problem.

Any ideas?

p.s. We have a 2mb leased line internet connection.

Try to set the following NOTES.INI variable for your Domino server:

RouterIgnoreForeignSMTPDomain=1

Can not 'guarantee' any results, but I vagely remember some similar error scenarios in our first R5 setup, and this setting solved it then.
If no good, remove it.

You can also have a look into some NOTES.INI library, in e.g.

http://drcc.dyndns.biz/ref/notesini.nsf/

and search for SMTP settings
