Something happened a few months ago with my Notes mail server. The smtp.box file get corrupted 3 or 4 times a day. Usually after a "page format is incorrect" error from a mail that someone has tried to send. There is no common mail box or user that seems to cause the error. I think we push maybe 60-70 emails out a day so it seems silly to corrupt the file so often.
When this happens the only thing that fixes the smtp.box, besides replacing it, is restarting the Domino server. Load fixup doesnt help.
The setup here is like this.
Incoming mail lands at a Notes 5 server. Mail goes to mailbox on Notes 5 server. Mail gets replicated (pushed only) to Notes 4.5 server. People login to the Notes 4.5 server
Outgoing mail goes out from the Notes 4.5 server to the internet.
I can't seem to find much info on Notes 4.5 on the Lotus\IBM site.
