hi, i have just started playing around with the windows 2000 server a couple of days ago and am trying to work out a little problem which the book and other references such as web sites have not helped.
i have set up a domain controllerl; active director, dns, dhcp. it works great. but i want the internet on my client computers (dialup). i read a part in my msct win2k accelerated book about setting up NAT. ok nat is set up, really easy, but the client computers arnt being translated. umm in the nat i dont have the dhcp allocator checked and i'm not using any name services. so whats up with this?
so i get mad and i take out the dns and dhcp and use NAT's dhcp. it works for client computers now!! but whats with this freezing for like 2 mins when i try to access files from other clients and the server? i realize its because of no dns server (duh) but with the dns server nat wont work.
err any help will be greatly apprecieated. thnx!
