I am trying to send emails to both ntlworld.com and googlemail.com email addresses but they are not received when I include my domain, freemoneyoff.co.uk, in them.

This is mainly for sending newsletter signup confirmation emails that contain a link to confirm a users subscription to our newsletter.

Just to clarify, emails sent from my website domain are not being received by ntlworld.com and googlemail.com addresses. This only occurs when I include my domain in the subject or body of the email which means I am unable to send links in the emails. They do get through when testing with other random domains like google.co.uk.

I have tested this through Outlook, webmail, groupmail and from an asp script on my website.

The only thing I can think of is that virgin media (ntlworld.com) and googlemail are blocking emails with my domain in.

I have successfully sent emails to many other addresses including ymail.com and Hotmail.co.uk but am unsure on which other email domains this problem may exist on.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. I have already contacted and been through a lengthy discussion with my website host but they say they are unable to assist me any further with this and do not know what could be causing the block on emails.

According to Google Safe Brwosing, your site hosted malware last month and infected ten other domains.
You're probably blacklisted.

The best place to check whether you are blacklisted is probably spamhaus:

Here's a nice overview about what to do if you're blacklisted:

I use to check for blacklists. It checks more than just spamhaus.org blacklists.

Check using both your domain and server IP.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply. Everything seems ok on that site. Also, if it were a blacklist problem, why do emails from the domain still get through when they do not have the domain in the body text of the email? I presumed a blacklisted domain would not be able to have emails get through at all. Any other ideas on what the problem could be?

The NAME of your domains alone is enough to make lots of spam filters go off. The black list is another matter. Like "male enhancement", "free viagra", etc. ads or web sites, yours has a certain ring to it - WHETHER DESERVRED OR NOT.

Not a spam filter problem. Any ideas on how I find out what the issue is or how I go about fixing it?

I have posted on the virgin media forums as well. I would try and contact Google but I know this can be difficult.

Again, it seems odd that it is only emails with the full domain in the text of the email that are not getting through. From what I gather about blacklists, if my domain was on one then nothing would get through despite the body of the email.

Any other ideas?

Maybe not YOUR spam filter problem but unless you contact Google and ntworld.com you have no way of knowing what words they block in THEIR spam filters.

Hope this helps.

I had a similar issue with gmail: thread605-1718714

when the company's website was included in the body of the email, it went to recipient's gmail spam folder most of the time; removing it allowed it to avoid gmails spam folder (sometimes). Very inconsistent. Eventually the problem went away by itself, without a firm answer why. Which is the frustrating part about spam filters.
