Good morning from Wisconsin,

One of our Active Directory users can't move or delete items from her desktop. The client is Windows XP Pro w/SP2 and the server is Windows Server 2003. It looks like her profile was set up at a different time and in a different manner than the other profiles; however, I have manually set every permission on her profiles to be the same as the other profile folders, to no avail.

Does anyone here have knowledge to what permissions and folders need to be set to allow this?

Thank you in advance,

so its a server based profile.
check the ntuser.* file in her profile, has it a .dat or .man extension?
in her profile, check the permissions on the desktop folder, also check who is the owner of the folder. it should be the user himself.

Did someone setup "Redirected Desktop Folder" in a Group Policy somewhere? If this is a roaming profile, check the Share/NTFS permissions on the root server folder that hold the RP fodlers.

As a followup to my original post, I just backed up the original profile, blew it away on the server, re-created it, and restored the documents, shortcuts, and settings. It was clearly a permissions issue somewhere, but I no longer had the time to mess with it.

Thank you for all the suggestions.
