I need to allow a remote domain access to a specific folder on my PDC. Both machines are running WS2k3 and I have full administrative control of them. Unfortunately, they are in different AD forests. I've tried following the instructions in the Server 2k3 book that I have, but the trusts did not get created (I don't remember the error I got as it's been about 6 months). How do I get this set up, or where would I go to read about it?

I don't have a link off hand but you want to set up a forrest root non-trasitive trust. The most common issue ran into is DNS name resoltion between the forrests. Verify that name resolution is configured between both domains. More than likely you will configure DNS forwareders for each domain. Search Microsoft for "Forrest Root Trust" and "DNS Forwarder.

After knowing what to look for (thanks, WKK), I was able to find a few resources on msdn. These articles pretty much cover all the basics:
I ended up setting up a one-way external trust and letting Windows handle the authentication instead of doing it manually (since both the DCs are part of my organization). Then I just had to add the security groups from the other domain to the folder permissions and it worked like a charm.
