Can anyone help me some domain questions, it all seems a bit bizarre registering a .ca or .us domain name.

I want register both but they have rules of presence, not all that clear though. One it states "her majesty the queen" as being able to register in canada. But does that mean only the queen or any subjects of the queen???

So basically living in the UK and having no direct presence other than my ancestors can I get a domain in either or both countries?

I am not a company, just researching my family name and want to register the domain in both countries to get more visitors to put in more info.

Thanks

When registering a US domain, you have to select one of the following:
" Type of registrant:
-US citizen
-Permanent resident of the US
-US organisation
-Activities in the US
-Office in the US"

In other words, you have to fulfil that criteria to register a US domain. I'm afraid I don't know the criteria for .ca though.
