I would like to change the domain name of a site in order
to increase its ranking with the search engines.
I do not want to lose the ranking the the site already has.
Can anyone suggest how I do this?
Do I just keep both names and have them point to the same server?

Does anyone have any other tips to increase ranking?
the current address is
(I know there is a rather unfortunate spelling mistake of hypnotherapy)

thanks for your time and advice

changing the domain name will make absolutely no difference whatsoever to the ranking of a site.

You will be LOOSING or disrupting any rankings for possibly 6 to 12 months.
So you are causing your site problems and loss of traffic for no good reason.

it was the thread at the top of the forum when you posted as well as being on exactly the same subject BTW.

Thanks for that

I was told that it would make a difference, and often when
you search on words the ones with the search words in the domain name seem to come up tops.

Sorry about the thread before being exactly the same. I am new to this and I do not understand what 301 and 302 redirect mean.

thanks

It's not the domain name that make the difference, but the rest of the work on optimising.
I always wonder why many assume that getting a "keyword hostname" is the only effort that would have been made.
