Guys, I ran the netdiag /v /l /test:dsgetdc on our domain controller and this test indicated the domain controller failed the domain membership test. Any ideas here. I want to demote this dc and I would rather do it gracefull than non-gracefully in terms of a force.

domain membership test failed

additional info. No matter how many times I detele it from dns, there's an invalid entry for this dc showing up. The name should be for example: library_72.net and the following entry shows up after deletion library72 and this entry prevents replication until I detele it, again, and it failed in the netdiag tests.
