hi, we currently have a SBS 2003 domain and are coming close to our 75 user limit. can someone tell me if this solution would work?

could we build a new server 2003 server (not SBS) and promote it to a DC on our domain. then let replication occur and other things. then, eventually, demote our original SBS 2003 machine.

would this remove the 75 user limit, one technical person i spoke to said it wouldnt.

many thanks

Nigel

I beleive with SBS you can not have another DC on the same domain. (and you can nor build a trust between domains).

I think your only option will be to create a new domain on the new server and copy all of the AD info over using a migration tool.

i think i have had the 2 OS's talking before, using virtual machines but they seemed to replicate fine. i might have to check this though
