I have a Server1 that is isolated from the entire network, its only chance of communication with the network is through a LinkSys BEFVP41 through the VPN tab. I have it where the Server1 can see Server2 going through the Router through the DSL Gateway and to the LinkSys Router in the other network where server2 resides.
I can ping server2 from server1, so I know there is connectivity between the two servers. I did not promoted Server1 to a Domain Controller as I thought I can do this once I isolate it from the network.
Well after isolating it from the network, I can still log on to the domain by going through the VPN, but I can't DCPROMO Server1, it says it can't find a computer with Active Directory, ETC...
Anyone have any ideas why this would be?
