Hi,

We have a single domain (NT 4 Server using only WINS) over 3 seperate geographical locations. During 'silent hours' we can browse the entire domain in Network Neighbourhood and all shared drives in the other physical locations work ok.

However during normal working hours we lose sight of the other locations and any shares which reside outside our own location can no longer be mapped.

I have managed to implement a 'temporary workaround' by mapping drives using IP addresses instead of NetBIOS computer names. I can ping everywhere else but they are not transparent in Windows.

We have checked the master browsers and all is normal there.

Any ideas guys (and girls)?

Thanks,

Is this an NT domain or 2k? Do you have domain controllers in other locations? How do you connect your locations (ie Frame relay, DSL, ISDN, etc)? Do you have anything in place that would prevent traffic at certain times of the day (such as ports 135-139)?
