Hello,
I am having a few problems with our workstations authenticating through BDC's from remote sites rather than the local domain BDC and this is causing login's to be quite long as they are authenticating over the WAN(approx 350Kb/s instead of the LAN(16Mb Token Ring).
Our local BDC is working fine so why is it going to BDC's situated elsewhere around 75% of the time
The only thing we can think of is that all the machines were built at our head office, obviously another domain, and shipped to us and we put them onto our domain, so this may be setting some parameters?????.
Is there any settings that can be looked at to ensure that if our BDC is up and running it will use it. We have searched the registry for BDC keys.

Thanks.....Dave

Did the head office create an Lmhost file pointing to a specific domain? i.e. - 192.168.0.1 server #pre #dom:domain

How are trust relationships set up between the different domains, specifically the local domain and the domain these boxes keep remotely authenticating to?

Doug
dxd_2000@yahoo.com
