Hi i have noticed that couple of domain Logni accounts get locked automatically. we need to unlock them daily sometime manytimes a day.

We have a Win 2k server as domain controller where in we have around 3000 users logged in and the accounts that get locked are only for some specific users. only 5 account get locked automatically. The account lockout is set to 3 unsuccessfull logins.

If anyone require any more info plz letme know.

I am guessing that some service on a PC or server is trying to log in as the user account with a set password. You changed the password, now it fails to log in and fails then locks you out.

Check the computers and the servers that they log into, check to see if any services are logging in as the user for some reason. If so, change it.

I suggest you audit those accounts for failed loggin attempts and see when they are getting locked. When the account gets locked, ask the user if they attempted to log in at the fail times specified in your audit. If no, then you have a 3rd party attempting to access those accounts.
