I have a WIN2K W/SP4 running NOTES R6.
Started as a once a week event, now has escalted occurances to within 1 hour to several hours. Have shut off external resources such as Backups, Sametime, Faxing etc. in an effort to troubleshoot, and Dom Server shut downs still occur, have setup debug routines and notifications however logs do not indciate anything, the Dom Server just stops,-mid-transaction. Server hardware does not indicate any failures, disk and memory resources are @ 50% capacity. No apparent virus issues.
Looking at 6.1 upgrade to help diagnose / resolve problem.
Dom Server restart would require a server reboot, and would
not allow restart from Icon, indciating some services were still running. Recently (Past 36 hours) I have restarted the Dom Server fror Icon executable.

Any Thoughts / Help would be appreciated.

Thx...MGC

Do you have user agents running ?
Did you install a third-party application that uses agents ?

Okay, a 3rd-party app that shuts down the server would get into trouble real quick, but maybe something was misconfigured.
On the other hand, a user agent could possibly be programmed (unwittingly) to @command([FileExit]).
To be sure, I would suggest not authorizing any agents to run for users. In other words, remove all execution rights on the server doc, save for the server itself, and give it a try.
Of course, you'll need to ensure that you can actually do that. If not, you might try and use the verboose logging option. I know there is one, but I cannot tell you how to get to it since I am not an Administrator myself.
