Hi. I'm using Acrobat 9 Pro. When I scan a document, the scanning ties up my computer and I am unable to do anything while it is scanning. Is there any way around this? For example, I would like to be able to type into Word or do searches on the internet while my document is scanning.Thank you so much for your assistance.

I am using Windows Vista

The question is too general to answer. Most likely, your PC is just occupied (memory/processor) and it can't do anything else until scanning is done.

Download Process Explorer and run it (similar to task manager) and watch the CPU and memory utilization before and after your start to scan. Should tell you exactly what is happening when the scanning "lockup" occurs.

What are the specs of your computer? It might shed a lot of light.
