Hi all,

I uninstalled embedded Tools from win 2k server of size 1.4GB and other unused software, but the space does'nt get freed up. It still shows the same space C:\ had before uninstalling these programs. I checked the folders if these still exist. But I could not see any folders remaining without being deleted. Uninstallation was successful without any errors. Any ideas where I could find these files hidden inside and deleting would free up some space. Currently C is out of space with 800 MBs remaining..

Thanks,

Thanks,

I tried that and even using command prompt to look for all files in C:\Doc and Settings..
Server is on workgroup and I did all this using Administrator account. If any one could tell me where the Temporary files(hidden) would be stored?

Thanks,

ppc2k

Temp files are usually kept in either:
C:\Documents and Settings\[User]\Local Settings\Temp
or
C:\winnt\temp

Do an echo of the TEMP variable, it will point you to a temp dir.

Even if there is stuff in the temp folders, an Uninstall should free up space. I don't know of any uninstall that just moves stuff to a temp folder when you uninstall it.

Hey, I had the same problem, Defrag your hard drive and the space will magically appear! It was a very frustrating thing for me. :)
