Does W3C compliance add value to page ranking

Whether ranking would improve is down to site content.
By making the page complaint it is more likely the content to be indexed correctly so it could help a little I guess.
Once again though... build the site for the users not to please a search engine. If you build a good site, with useful content and you do it in a way that will work for the maximum amount of users then the search engines will like your site.
