Hi everyone,
I'm trying to make multiple copies of an object, In the programs I'm used to , they have a "Step and Repeat" command, so, in other words, I can select everything, and click on "Step and Repeat" and I can set how many copies I want horizontal and Verticle and also set the spacing in between - Does Corel have this option? Thanks in advance for any help that is given.

Hi graphicgirl,

Yes it does. There are a few ways to acheive this. I'll be giving you 2 ways.

1) click on -Arrange- on the menu bar

2) click on -Transformation-

3) the -Transformation docker- will be docked just to the left of your color palettes

4) click on the -Transformation docker- to open it. Inside you will see 5 icons at the top. The first one is the tool used for repeats and positioning

Another way to make repeats on the fly and with the eye is as follows:

1) first make sure nothing is selected

2) look up at the top tool bar/s....there should be a small -x- and a -y- with numbers in boxes to the right and up & down keys......enter zero in both of the number boxes

3) select the object to be duplicated

4) hold down the -Ctrl- key and then press the -D- key once.....you have now created a duplicate on top of the original.......where ever you move the dup, if you repeat the same steps mentioned here in #4 the next dup will be positioned the same distance away.......NOTE:if you continue to hold down the -Ctrl- key while moving an object it will be forced to maintain a straight horiz. or vert. plane, which can be very useful.

rh14k has given a good explanation, another way to do it visually is left click and hold down on the object and move and every time you press the space bar a duplicate will be left. If by your question you are referring to a spacific function for setting numbers up and along as per sign programmes for cutting the answer is no. It may be worth looking at the Oberonplace.com site to see if there is a script that would help.
