Does too many partition affects the memory performance

Hi,

I just made 10 partitions with my 20gb HD. (I was afraid to suffer another HD crash failure.

Currently I am creating a program using VB6, then I just encountered a low on memory message where for a fact that only the VB and WinExplorer is openned.
