Hello everyone!
Does the passwords files (/etc/passwd shadow & group) are the same on AIX 4.3.3 and on AIX 5.2L.
In fact, i wanna migrate servers wich are now on AIX 4.3.3 to AIX 5.2L (new servers) and i have something like 3000 entries in /etc/passwd, and I don't want to type them by the hand. the problem is the password, that i cannot specify on command line to script.
Please, help me quickly ...
(PS : can you send me a copy of the answer on adam.marie@wanadoo.fr, thanx)

Thanks for Advance.

Adam

I am pretty sure that you can just rcp the files. We do that between HACMP nodes to keep the users current, however I have not tried it between 4.3 a 5L. IBM Certified -- AIX 4.3 Obfuscation

For what its worth we just upgraded a system from 4.2.1 to 5.2L and afterwards copied over original passwd file and lock ourselves out. So, I'd say NO.
