Does the max amount of memory improve performace?

Hi
At the moment I have 376Mb RAM installed in a ultra 10 333.
Would upgrading to the full 1Gb improve performance considerably?
I spend plenty of time doing java programming using Netbeans, plus my main webrowser is netscape 6.2.2.
Is it worth spending all that money, or should I invest in a faster sun machine?

You should give me your machine and buy yourself another...Yes, definately that would do the trick..

In all seriousness, are you using all of the memory you have? Is it swapping much? These are going to be the ways you determine whether you need more memory. More memory is almost always a good thing, unless you don't need it. In which case it is a waste. Make sure you need it first.
