I was just wondering if 50 workstations each having SNMP agents communicating to a central server brings traffic to a network..Any ideas?

yeah :) it does...

How much traffic does it add? that's the question really. Not too much is the general answer but it can result in a fair bit if a particular device is having a problem and generates a lot of traps.

Don't add 50 all at once; add them a few at a time and monitor the traffic as you go. Mike

if you mean in your LAN, never enough to notice. If you mean in your WAN, maybe, add slowly. I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.
