If I export a DB and from server A and import that DB onto server B, do the indexes get recreated? Or are they just imported as is?

Mike,

The default imp parameter is "indexes=Y", which means that Oracle will re-create indexes. Dump files do not contain any literal index contents...they can only be re-created. You can confirm import-parameter settings by issuing the command-prompt command, "imp help=y".
