Hello, I'm trying to setup a few Solarwinds tools to work with my SW6513 switch.
I need to configure it for layer3 SNMP communications.

Does my SW6513 even have layer 3 capability?
How do I find out?
What exactly is layer3?
To me it just looks like a more specific login/password setup on the router.

I have been trying to google this but with no luck.

Thank you for responding.

Not sure how to find that out though.

If I go to the unit via a browser it will give me a tech report for the router.
The only "supervisor" mentioned is the following:
(it repeats a few times but it's the same model number)

7 9 Supervisor Engine 32 8GE (Active) WS-SUP32-GE-3B

Is that what you mean?

Here is the sheet for the Sup32 on what it will and wont do. It looks like by default it comes with an MSFC which allows RIP and static routes only with default software. If you go to a different version software feature set it will offer EIGRP/OSPF and possibly BGP depending on the feature set.

But check the link for all the features/etc of your supervisor engine. That is the control plane (brains) for your switch.
