I wanted to know is there a feature on my version of Macola that would notify us when a product falls below the reorder level. Like with a pop up or notification? if not DO any of your newer versions do this?

Whats the difference between safety level and Reorder level??

I cannot find much documentation on how to use the Reorder Advice menu. It locks up on us everytime i try to generate a report and doesnt show me anything maybe u could guide me on what option to check if I want to see what products fall below reorder level.

Thanks a million in advance

Why such an old version? Modified source code? Or not current on maintenance?

The only way to "automatically" get notified of this is to use the Macola Event manager. This is a great piece of software, IMO.

Reorder level is just that - the level that Macola should generate reorder advices on. If you mean Safety Stock, this is like a cushion. If you add 10 to safety stock, and reorder level is 250, then the reorder advice should kick in when the parts hits 260 on hand rather than 250. It work similarly with MRP if the item in an MRP item and not a reorder level item.

In terms of documentation, I have always found help, about this screen, to be very good, although we are literally talking about 5 years of development since your last upgrade, and I cannot vouch for using that method from 2000.

Hope this helps.

Event Manager is a great tool, but it's not the ONLY way to accomplish proactive reporting and/or notifications. You probably already have Crystal Reports - if you do, you can combine it with a product from Ido Millet called 'Visual Cut'. Visual Cut allows you to schedule and/or email reports. You could create a report to show items that fall below a certain level, then schedule this report to run nightly, hourly etc. I'm not associated with Visual Cut in any way - I just like it, particularly given how inexpensive it is.
