Hello,

I'm new to Linux. I have a dual boot with Windows and Linux
Redhat 9 on my machine and I'm trying to upgrade the ram
with extra 256M(2 * 128). I know that windows automatically
reads the new ram, does linux also do so? or what's the step
that I need to do so Linux recognizes the new ram?

Thanks.

No steps necessary. It will find it automatically.

The kudzu service is activated. The Linux RedHat 9 should detect the new memory.Because kudzu used to detect new hardware for linux.
Good Luck....:)

kudzu has nothing to do with memory. your kernel manages and recognizes memory. without modification to the kernel, your system should automatically recognize up to 4 gb of memory...kudzu has nothing to do with it.

What I knew kudzu is very usefull to detect new hardware.
Maybe kudzu is useless for upgrade memory.
Thanks for your input.
