I'm looking for a centralized internal server based dictation solution for the law and healthcare industries.
The way I envision it working is that the enduser will call a PBX extension from their desk phone and enter a PIN. From there they will be prompted to enter commands through speech or DTMF and be able to dictate whatever they need to.
From there the speech is converted to a document that can be saved to a share or sent out as an email attachment.

Does this technology exist and if so can you point me in a direction. I've tried google and the results are unsatisfctory.

Thanks.

Dictation equipment is easy. How many speech recognition systems have you seen lately? How many Speech to text systems have you seen besides that? Dragon is one, and 2 through a zillion is probably available, just not accurate or competitive.

It's been a while since we've even done dial dictation since the digital recorder with MP3 files came into general use.
It's pretty hard to justify thousands of dollars per seat when a sub $200 recorder does it all.

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.
